Diane Foytich

About Diane:

As an accomplished glass artist, Diane divides her time between stained glass, jewelry making and lampworking, which is her true passion. From elegant to whimsical, Diane's beads are amazing works of miniature art leaving one to wonder "how does she do that?!" Each bead is created with great attention to detail. Most take more than an hour to craft. Once satisfied, Diane places her beads in a kiln to anneal - a process which takes several hours, but ensures these beautiful treasures will last for years to come.

As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved beautiful glass work. So it should really be no surprise that all these years later I find myself drawn to this art form. About twenty-plus years ago I took a short course in stained glass but due to personal and business commitments I didn’t pursue it at that time. In 1999 I took a short refresher course and I’ve been creating stained glass ever since.

Two years ago, as a diversion, I took a short introductory class in lampworking. Once I melted my first glass I found this to be my true passion. It’s a continuous learning experience for me and my one regret is that I didn’t find this craft earlier in my life. But I am grateful to be at a stage in my life where I can explore this glass art and see where it takes me. I’ve quickly discovered the only limitation to creativity is one’s imagination.

None of this would be possible without the love, support, understanding and help of my husband Steve. He's my best friend, official fan club and partner in all that I do.

I would also like to introduce you to our three furry housemates… Mia, Demi and our latest addition, Noel. Those of you who are animal lovers, and I know there are many of you, know the joy and unconditional love these wonderful creatures provide. Our life is far richer by sharing it with them.

I am a proud member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.

I welcome questions about my current works and would love to explore the possibilities of a particular design. Please look over my galleries and contact me at diane@glassdreamshawaii.com if you would like to discuss a special project.
